Oh dear. Oh my dear God. What have we created this week? I hope you’re a child of the 80’s (or at least have a healthy respect for us), because this tune is Hair Rock all the way. Thanks to the stellar guitar virtuosity of one James Lee, and a healthy nudge from him to do something “anthemic”, we’ve come up with likely the heaviest tune I’ve ever written or co-written. Full credit to James for the 80’s stylings on this one.

I think after last week’s move too far to the ballad’esque side, I may have overcorrected!

Um… yeah… not a favourite here. I think the lyrics need an overhaul. Devil in the details is a good line… and thats about it. ouch. I don’t believe your saying anything. It is full of cliche’s.

I like reading Gordon Downie’s poetry book, Coke Machine Glow. He finds new ways of saying the same old things; could be useful to read some of it? Just a humble girls opinion.

Hmm.. I think this songs pretty bitchen. It’s the first one I’ve heard but I’d rock to it. I’m not too sure what to say for improvements.. but i think the guitar needs to be louder. Other than that… I’m looking forward to hearing what you guys come up with next.

This one is actually quite good. Eagles with an edge. If I was to provide one minor comment, I would beef-up the solo in the middle, I started to fall asleep during that part. On another note, the average literacy rate in North America (+50%) is below grade 8 level, so your complex lyrics will be a natural hit. I’m not kidding - know your market and you’ll have a hit. Although I really like the other tunes as well, I’m not really sure of the target audience. This one speaks for itself. Good job. Cheers.

The recording is actually quite well done. It sounds great. I think it’s a catchy tune. All in all, i like it. I think you should try and make it a bit heavier. more guitar. Good work.

When I close my eyes and listen, I get a sense of ice-mist and back combing! Very 80’s but then again, so was I! I like it! (Sorry, from me you won’t get any real constructive criticism…just opinion!)
    Ciao

I must say that the recording quality of your songs is excellent. I quite like the guitar and general rhythm of this song and it’d be good to see more of this soon :)

    Keep it up!

Wow! This song is insane, the lyrics are awesome, the guitar is amazing!! It’s so easy to just get lost in the song and enjoy it. Definite props. I can’t wait to hear more!

After having listened to the songs for a number of times, there are a lot of features I like and some things I would change. I think I would use a better tone on the guitar for all of the sections and perhaps play alittle bit tighter. But after all is said and done, it still puts a big smile on my face!@ =\oo/

I like the song and can definately hear James’ influence. I think you need to find a happy medium, a little more “rock” than you usually do, but maybe not this extreme and definately a more “modern” interpretation of rock (not that 80’s sound that James is known for!).

Likin’ the Brian Adams 80’s sounds combined with a fresh twist of Pink Floyd to balance out my palat! Delicious!

The MUSIC is great entertainment in the making. Luv it.The lyrics/MESSAGE?–Nah! Take care of THAT, and this song COULD top my list so far.

Sounding good. I liked the story approach. The chorus could use a little work. Really liked the lyrics -Keep it rocking!

gotta say, el, as i’m listening, i see you with a mullet, a bottle of JD, real tight jeans and a pair of high tops - not quite what i’m used to. i love to see you getting out of “the usual” and into the unexpected.
i thought it was pretty good, but i actually wanted it harder and the music louder or perhaps competing with the lyrics more (does that make any sense?).
got a little rocker in me after all. like your influence, James. will we see it again?

I surprised myself by liking this one a lot - maybe I’ve been playing too much Guitar Hero and getting into the old 80s stuff. Anyway, it’s fun and that wasa enough for me!

You know El, you should run this one by Buck Cherry! I loved it. I bet they would too. I thought it could even be heavier. Raunch it up a little more.

    I like it !!

Loved the riff! Heard some more melody coming off the bridge perhaps in thirds? I’d change the settings on the guitar for a couple different voices. Couldn’t relate to the lyrics. Great concept of devil in the details and I knew what you were getting at, but it was a stretch. Maybe if the chorus was rewritten to pull the previous verse together, I’d get it. Good vocals btw.

Great energy - a straight ahead rocker. Like the vocals, harmonies and the guitar - although to be 80’s, the guitar need to come up a lot in the mix. The use of names in the lyrics personalizes it. Some of the lines are a bit cliche - “treat a guy right”, “sweet as sugar”. I like the lead up to the main hook - “the devil’s in, the devil’s in, the devil’s in the detail. The guitar break is about 45 seconds and could be shortened or accompanied by a vocal bridge. The move to double-time after about 30 seconds in the solo gave it energy.
    Gimme more!

The opening lick made me feel like I was listening to an old RATT album…Rock on brother!!!
