You’ll Be a Hero is actually a song I’ve been performing in little gigs here and there for nearly a year, but until now only existed in my memory (which is a tenuous place to be). My friend, Cisco, of Los Angeles co-wrote the lyrics with me. Allow me to go “Jim Rome” for a minute:

War James Lee for the guitar solo and bass. War Jay Palidwar for drums. We didn’t leave a lot to the imagination with this one, did we guys? So much for doing a demo version of this song…!

THE MUSICIANSHIP IS IMPRESSIVE. THE TOON IS INTERESTING. THE LYRICS RATE NEXT TO THE TITLE FOR WEEK ONE.

The chorus is what really drives this song and the verses seem softer than I remember (or would like) which I think makes it sound a little generic. I do like the drums which really give the song a kick. I think you need to do a straight out rocker next week.

After listening to this song over and over again, I am kind of disappointed. I am not going to hide my feelings on this one. This song had potential but it got dicked around to death! The keyboard shots all over the place are out of place, the guitar tone is thin and has too much reverb on it. I remember playing this song when it had warmth and feel that is totally lost on this track.
