Hi All, please check out the latest installment in the epic journey. And by epic, I mean “silly little songwriting exercise designed to turn my life on its head”. This week’s tune is, I guess, a love song with a simple message. Sorry, no drama this week, just a (hopefully) simple, relatable “we’re stuck in this together” kind of sentiment.

A little too country for our taste. Tough to get that Langley out of your blood.

This one has real ‘purr’tenshil. The music has great vibes for me.
WHERE Is this lady? That’s the question
in my mind. What’s his story in a simple sentence?

Not my genre at all(C&W), but I liked it. It does have an easy feel to it. Being a songwriter myself (I know a disease) it’s easy to fall into the clique shay trap. It’s also easier (and not as creative) to exactly describe an action vs using a metaphor. Joni could have said “You fill me up with love” but instead used “I could drink a case of you”. In your case for example “I spend my nights,
counting the airplanes” describes exactly the action instead of a metaphor like “flying giants consume my nights” or something… anyway you get my point and it makes it so much more difficult, but rewarding. Keep to it!

I am not a song writer or musician but
I enjoy listening to music and I did like this one.
    Keep up the great work.

You know for a guy who doesn’t like country, you sure write some good country tunes. I could hear Alan Jackson singing that one. Throw a steel guitar and some twin fiddles and you’ve got yourself something for Nashville. Did I just write that…? God, I’ve got to get out of Moose Jaw!
