The inspiration from this week’s tune came from two sources:
I had dinner with a friend last month in San Francisco, and was talking about a specific unfortunate situation in his life where he was struggling with thoughts of “this shouldn’t be happening to me”, and “it’s not supposed to be like this”. It was only after he made a conscious decision to tell himself “Deal with it. It is what it is.”, that he was able to find some sanity/peace in his life. Basically, it’s all about Acceptance, he said.
The other surce was a great new book I just finished from Vancouver author Eckhart Tolle. In there, he talks a lot about the fact that everything that ever happens in your life happens Now. Not tomorrow, not yesterday, or even 10 minutes ago. Why obsessively worry about will happen in the future, or keep reliving the “injustices you suffered” five years ago? Why wait for a, b, and c to happen before you allow yourself to be happy NOW? Simple stuff you’d think, but very few people live like that, don’t you think??
Anyway, the crux of this song is, like the lyric says, “While you hang your hat on a someday, another one gets away”!
Cheers, all.
Eliot.

Hey man, this one really cooks. Sounds like a hit to me. I really liked the break. In his autobiography McCartney said he loved double meanings. “hang your hat on a someday” well I guess it’s not really a double meaning, but it does make me go back and figure it out. I like that challenge as opposed to cliches
This one’s a keeper for sure Eliot. I heard some room for female gospel backup vocals.

I REALLY liked this one. Once of the best if not THE best so far I’d say.
Paul agrees.
Remi hasn’t heard it yet.
This one should definitely wind up on the final list
I like it and I don’t know why? I suppose that’s okay. I thought that instead of starting with the music, perhaps you could have someone talking or the audio from some CNN type show talking about future predictions or something about ‘live in the now’ ‘carpe diem’. Give us an idea what the song’s about before we even hear it. Maybe that offends your artistic intent. That’s why you’re writing and I fly planes.
Hey man! Good work, great song!
let me know bro, need drums? i am only a 15 min drive away!
good job bro!

Great job - I really liked this one
also. I liked the break in between
REALLY like this one!!
As for this tune, it has made an impression on me. I think that the guitar tone is good although it sounds like a Mexican made Strat but I won’t hold that against you. The chorus is not catchy, that would be like calling a beautiful woman “cute.” It is precise and memorable. I know it is because my son keeps on singing it all the time. Now tell me what in the hell is the deal with the ED?
Or it would be like calling James Lee “a bit of a stallion”. It just doesn’t tell the whole story….
