First off, being a pretty nostalgic guy, that is happiest in the summertime, I’m obviously a sucker for nostalgic songs about summer. Boys of Summer, Dark Horse, Summer of ‘69… All beauties that are way up there on my personal top 50.
This song doesn’t belong among that group of classics, but I like the “end of summer looking back on what coulda been” vibe… Be gentle.

Another great song Eliot. I loved it. Musically I’d give it a 10 and I really enjoyed the rhyming scheme. Wheel with deal in second verse. That really works well. Got right into the words from the first line. Really excellent.
I agree with Ken…it sucks!!
HEY I LIKE THIS ONE
IT’S REALLY DIFFERENT AND SMOOTH
REALLY DOESN’T NEED MUCH WORK AT ALL
(NOT TOO LONG AND COMPLICATED)
POPS
memphis looked for the sound when it started…thumbs up!!!

I definitely like the vibe. Reminds me of driving through the city in the late afternoon….
I must say though, that it feels like it needs to build up somewhere… I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something it missing. I guess I will have to listen to it another 10 times to tell ya
Other than that, I really enjoyed it. I agree with Ken, musically it is fantastic. Very smooth, but then again, that’s you Mr. Piano-man.
I know your major hit is still in you, and I can’t wait until the day that you find it.
Can’t wait to work with you again!
nice, yup, … it’s a hot night after a hot day. My skin feels a wee burn, and I am sitting on the floor in my old bedroom at mom and dad’s looking through old letters and treasures from my childhood. I stay up way past the time when my eyes are telling me I’ve had enough of this day. This is the music I am listening to on my old “getto blaster”. Love it.
Well…a couple things. First off it’s good to see you finally mention Toronto. We were expecting something around week 5 but we’ll take week 17 with apologies.
Second, the reference to “Mary Jane” I’m pretty sure has something to do with Marijuanna and I can’t condone that. Think of the children. At this rate Week 18’s song is going to be “Can’t Wait to Score Me Some of That Crazy X”.
Overall I did like the song but agree with the one comment saying it seemed to need a buildup somewhere. The flow is up halfway and then back down. Not sure.
I’m going to go put on my Captain and Tenille albums…haven’t heard those for days.
Your song(s) have a way of transporting my mind to different parts of my life. Which stirs lots of mixed emotions…it makes me want to “reset” not rewind. I am a summer girl! The beach, night lights, sunsets, sunshine and just driving around with no place to go.
I know very little about music, but I know what I like…..Isn’t that what great music is suppose to do, move you, talk to you, inspire you, remind you… I am curious about the connection to Toronto. Liked the music and how clean and smooth it was can’t wait for the next one.
Really like this song, it totally has that warm summer feel. I truly commend this challenge, you are doing what you love to do…you are an artist…an inspiration.
I agree with your Dad. It’s a complete song. Clean start to finish. I was wondering how you were going to make “head” and “reset” rhyme but the way you sing that last line in the chorus is awesome! Liked it!
“It’s just a major hook… no big deal…”
