Two kids in school,
One on the way,
Waitress at night,
At work in the city by the day,
But it’s still not enough
What if they call,
and she can’t be at home?
What if that little boy needs,
A mother not a voice on the telephone?
She’s terrified.
Pulls up outside her parent’s place,
The lights are out,
He takes her in no time to waste,
Yeah, it’s gotta be now.
Before any words she’s out of her clothes,
Now she’s shedding the Good Girl now,
Was once so sure, but now she just don’t know.
She’s terrified.
We’re all strong deep inside,
We are just divided by,
A situation, incarnation,
Or a small miscalculation,
Whatever brought you there,
You can see it everywhere
We’re terrified…
The spotlight warm upon my face,
Nothing but darkness as I look around this place,
And I can’t see a soul,
My fingers are numb, I’m singing out of time,
I can’t get the words out right,
Maybe I’m just not myself tonight.
I’m terrified.
